God Heals Today!
Our God is a healing God who heals people today, much like He did when Jesus walked the planet and in the days of the early church. Access to divine healing is part of the abundant life that Jesus told his followers to expect as we come into his kingdom. We see people receive healing weekly and sometimes daily – healing of every sort of disease, bondage, mindset, and trauma. God heals us not only physically, but He also heals our souls and our spirits, sometimes directly, but most often through the prayers of his people. We also work with medical professionals and appreciate and utilize modern medicine and psychology as well.
We encourage everyone to pray for healing, and many of us do, as you can see during any Coffee Hour! We also train people regularly and thoroughly, impart spiritual gifts, and serve with new skills. Many people serve on our healing prayer team, and we make ourselves available to pray for you and your family.
Divine healing is one of the most convincing demonstrations that God is with us today. Through healing prayer, Jesus can bring forgiveness of sins, physical healing, emotional healing, and spiritual healing. And He often does.
Why Might I Need Healing Prayer?
- Are you experiencing any physical disease or injury?
- Do you lack the joy that God intended for you?
- Do you find yourself upset about things more than you should?
- Do you have habits or thought patterns that are not helpful?
- Are you living in unforgiveness or bitterness toward one who hurt you?
- Do you have compulsive or addictive behaviors of any kind?
- Have you experienced emotional wounding or trauma in your life?
- Have you or your family members ever been involved in the occult?
- Is your spiritual life dry?
These are just some of the indications that you can benefit from healing prayer.
Healing Ministry Prayer Training on Wednesday evenings
Equipping the saints for the Great Commission ministry of healing the sick and casting out demons is a core component of what we do at Church of the Holy Spirit. See the Healing Training Page webpage for more information and registration for our training classes.
Some Ways to Receive Prayer at Church of the Holy Spirit
Many of our people are comfortable praying for any need at all, so if you ask for prayer at any time, informally, or say, in the coffee hour, you will likely receive it right then and there! Just ask us, we are happy to pray for you, or to arrange a prayer time for you.
Prayer teams are available during Holy Communion at the front corners of the room, and after Sunday services, for shorter prayer times.
First Saturday Healing Service at 5:00 pm
Join us for worship in song, an encouraging message on a healing topic, words of knowledge and powerful healing prayer on the 1st Saturday of every month at 5:00 p.m. Pastor Clancy leads. We have time at this service for our trained prayer teams to minister for 5-15 minutes to everyone who seeks healing. The service lasts till 7:00 pm or so, and we typically eat and chat together afterward to deepen friendships.
We offer prayer appointments, typically for 60 or 90 minutes (longer as needed), for those who desire or need extensive prayer. You will meet with a team of two Prayer Team ministers for an interactive prayer session that can include prayer for physical, emotional, or spiritual healing. Often people come to receive inner healing from past traumas, fears or limiting beliefs, or freedom from afflicting spirits; but your need may well be different.
Please note that we are not able to do prayer sessions over the internet. The Healing Prayer Ministry at CHS is not an intercessory prayer ministry. (For that, please see below). If you do not live in our area, we suggest that you look for prayer ministries in your area, or call one of the excellent healing prayer lines offered by other ministries. Below are a list of a few of those ministries.

Intercessory Prayer List
THIS is our public intercessory prayer ministry, and it runs on email. If you have a prayer request, you may send an email to firstname.lastname@example.org, and we will place your request on our intercessory prayer list, which scores of our people pray for every week. Or, you may join us on Monday evenings at 7:00 PM for our small group intercessory prayer meeting in the nave.
